When I was a kid, I usually stayed with my grandma during summer break. She always cooked lunch and dinner for us. All her food was the best. Everything was out of this world. She prepared everything from scratch. Forget about semi-homemade, there is no way… She even bought fresh coconuts to squeeze the milk for her ingredients. Of course, all her curry paste was homemade only.

Pad Prik Gang Tofu Suggestions
In a Thai kitchen, pestle and mortar are old-school kitchen tools used by every household. They are awesome to do many jobs, such as making som tum and curry paste. When my grandma prepared a meal, I always heard the smashing rhythm from her kitchen and smelled her aromatic herbs. She often crushed and ground ingredients to make curry paste. In fact, my aunt who learned many cooking techniques from my grandma, still prepares her food using the same methods as her original teacher.
Even though a food processor is my dear friend, I still use pestle and mortar to prepare my meals. It creates the sound of deliciousness. In addition, the device helps me to get some exercise and release some anger.
I like to cook with red curry paste in terms of creating a variety of new recipes. Red curry paste is so versatile. The ingredient can be utilized with curry dishes, stir-fried menus, marinated meats and for making sauce. It offers tons of flavor and aroma. I often make stir-fried vegetables with red curry paste, which is a good idea for a veggie-only dish.
